How SSY maturity is calculated

Deposits are made annually for the first 15 years from account opening. Interest compounds annually on the running balance for all 21 years, even after deposits stop, until maturity.

An SSY account can be opened for a girl child under 10, with a maximum deposit of ₹1,50,000 per year. The interest rate is revised quarterly, and both the interest earned and maturity proceeds are tax-free.
